  1. From the sun kissed Santa Clara Valley to the brumal Alaskan climate. Where ever Buck went he was meant to be in the wild. The book just goes to show you can take the dog out of the wild but you can’t take the wild out of the dog. Slowly as Buck lived his live, everything that happened lead him closer to the wild. No matter who was his master Buck was always meant for the wild and eventually everyone left. Till Buck finally realized he loved the wild and couldn’t stay away the call the sounds were just too strong ad overwhelmed him. As the book progressed you could slowly see him slipping away from the hands of man to the wild.

  2. The story is showing the way Buck goes to get away from being a housedog and being pulled in by the call of the wild to be a wild animal. In the end of the book the only conection between Buck and men was John Thornton. After he died there was nothing more to hold Buck back from living in the wild woods. During the time Buck was with Thornton, he sometimes plunged into the woods because he heard the ´calls´ but always came back because of Thornton. But then, that he was gone there was nothing that made Buck come back, so he just ran deep into the wild to be a free, wild dog.
The sounds of everything in the wild, from wolf howls to rumbling avalanches is - The Call of the Wild

  3. In the book you see Buck transforming into a wild animal. Pulled by the call, Buck turned from being a house dog, to a sled dog, to a wild dog. From the beginning he was meant to be in the wild, and slowly and with help he learnt how to survive on it.He sometimes had heard calls from the wild on his mind, like when he thought about his ancestors and the wild. And when he was ready and all his masters were gone, he introduced himself to the wild and he continued his life there, and he managed it pretty good living a normal wild life.

  4. The life of Buck, being a 360 degree rotation by a life going and pulling sled in the Alaskan Wilderness. The reason why I think he came to the wilderness is not only because the helper of Judge Millers, I also think that the wild called Buck, and the reason to that is getting clearer in the ending. First he was a normal house dog, and when he became a sled dog, he met lots of people, dogs, and had tons of new experiences. His last connection to human, was John Thorton. When John died and the connection between human and buck no longer lasted. He heard a call from the wilderness, and Buck became a wild dog. This all happened because the wild called him. The 'call' made Buck experience a new life he hadn't been experiencing when he was a normal house dog.

  5. The Call of the Wild is a figure of speech in saying that Buck was pulled into the wild all the way from the start of his journey in California. Buck is first a domestic dog in California, but he is slowly pulled to the wild as he starts his journey to Alaska. Buck understands about his ancestors in chapter two and the knowledge gets stronger and more persuasive throughout the book. By the time John Thornton owned Buck, he was very intrigued about this call. He always came into the wild but remembered John and returned to the camp. After John's demise, Buck finally becomes a wild animal, from a domestic dog in California.

  6. Buck's ancestors were wild animals in the "wild". As his ancestors, he was meant to be a wild animal but first he was a house dog at Judge Miller's house in California. Then he slowly gets the call from the wild and moves to Alaska. He starts his new life in Alaska having different kinds of masters, leader, and dogs. His last master, John Thornton was really important master to Buck who cared about him and always called him whenever he needed him. All these events that happened slowly to Buck was the call of the wild to make himself a wild strong dog, and always till he meets his end of his life.

  7. Bucks life slowly transformed for being a dog who gets pampered in California to a dog who is leading a sled team, and to a dog in the "WILD" in the alaskan wilderness. Buck was actually meant to be a wild dog, through his ancestors. The call of the wild basically means in this situation is that: is that no matter what Buck tries to do, the wild is just always surrounding him. He adapts and learns how to survive in the wild. After all of that he met his new master John Thorton. Where ever , when ever, Buck tried to go anywhere he always thought of his loyal master , and always returned camp to see him. He really adored John. After his master died he learned how to be more self independent and strong. Thats how he learned the call of the wild.

  8. The Call of the Wild is a figure of speech which says that Buck was meant to be where he is now, at the end of the book, and the wild was 'calling' him. Buck learns that master after master, the voices from the wild would always be calling for him and he knew in the end of the story, that he belonged in the wild.

  9. The call of the wild is a figure of speech meaning that Buck was pulled into the wild all the way from California, so he was meant to be in the wild where he was completely ready for it.
Not only did Buck come because he was forced to but the call of the wild was calling him because he was a dog who was always ready for it.
